Terms of Service

1. The agreement

By using talo (the app, web app, or anything we publish at talo.club), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

2. Who can use talo

You must be at least 18 years old to use talo. You must be able to enter into a contract under the laws of your jurisdiction. If you're using talo on behalf of a flat, you confirm you have the authority to do so.

3. Your account

You're responsible for keeping your account secure. Use a strong password. Don't share your login. Tell us immediately if your account is compromised.

4. What talo is (and isn't)

talo is a tool to record, split, and settle expenses between you and the people you share a flat with. We are not a bank, not a payment processor, and not a financial advisor. UPI transfers are initiated by you via your UPI app — talo just opens the deep-link.

You and your flatmates are responsible for the accuracy of the data you enter. talo just does the maths on what you put in.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use talo for illegal activities or to defraud anyone.
• Harass, threaten, or impersonate other users.
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract our code.
• Use talo to send spam or unsolicited messages.
• Bypass security or rate limits.

If you do any of these, we can suspend or terminate your account without notice.

6. Fees

talo's Flat tier is free, and will remain free for the features listed at /pricing. If we ever introduce paid tiers, you'll be notified in advance and can choose not to upgrade.

UPI transactions you initiate through talo are subject to the terms of your UPI app and your bank. talo doesn't charge transaction fees.

7. Intellectual property

The talo name, logo, app design, and code are our intellectual property. You can't copy, modify, or redistribute them. Anything you put into talo (your expense data) belongs to you.

8. Termination

You can delete your account anytime from Settings → Account → Delete. We'll delete your personal data within seven days, but we may keep aggregated, anonymised data for product analytics.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that pose a security risk.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

talo is provided “as is.” We try hard to keep it running and accurate, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted service or zero bugs. Use at your own discretion.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, talo is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability to you is capped at the amount you've paid us in the last 12 months (which, on the Flat tier, is zero).

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Gurgaon, Haryana.

12. Changes

If we change these terms, we'll update the date and email existing users. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
