Mohak Gupta is a full-stack engineer, technical lead, and systems builder based in Gurugram. He founded talo after moving into a flat with three other engineers and deciding that rent splitting in India deserved something better than spreadsheets and upgrade prompts. Before talo, he led engineering and infrastructure work across CloudHire, Paavan, TheHomeworkApp, and Teak Finance, building mobile apps, backend systems, analytics pipelines, AI-native workflows, and distributed infrastructure.

I like building products that feel unusually considered.

I am a full-stack engineer and technical leader focused on building scalable products, backend systems, AI-driven infrastructure, and high-performance platforms. I enjoy solving hard engineering problems while staying close to product thinking and execution speed.

Over the last few years I have worked across startups and product teams, leading engineering efforts from early-stage product development to larger-scale infrastructure modernization. The work has ranged from mobile products and search systems to analytics pipelines, serverless backends, real-time data flows, and AI-native internal platforms.

What ties it all together is a preference for systems that are both practical and sharp. I care about architecture, but not architecture theatre. I like fast iteration, direct product feedback, clear tradeoffs, and software that earns its complexity instead of advertising it.

Outside work, I am into AI systems, infrastructure, self-hosting, quantitative workflows, hardware, gaming culture, and the kind of consumer products that feel unusually considered. talo sits right in the middle of those interests.
